Should I not be happy with a mediator, what can I do?

There are two organisations which mediators can belong to. They are:

AMINZ (Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand), and
LEADR (Lawyers Engaged in Alternate Dispute Resolution)

It is not advisable to engage a mediator that is not a member of one of the above organisations. Each organisation has its own code of ethics and, should you feel your mediator has done you an injustice, then you can formally complain to the organisation that they belong to. The organisation will then investigate for you and take action as they see appropriate.
